I got a space in the Gym Car Park today

,

At last!

It’s taken until February.

Every year it’s the same.

Getting a parking space at the gym is a nightmare in January.

My 8 am slot is over subscribed and the best spaces are already taken.

I have to squeeze into that tight corner, after circling the car park a few times getting to my class late again.

But now in February, it’s back to normal

No hassle.

Pick your parking spot at your leisure.

Place is almost empty.

Stroll in with time to spare

So what is different this month?

It’s a well known pattern.

Why?

Gym memberships surge in January due to New Year's resolutions—many people set fitness goals as part of a fresh start.

However, by February and March, attendance drops because:

  • Loss of Motivation: The initial enthusiasm fades as routines feel harder to maintain.

  • Unrealistic Expectations: Many expect quick results and get discouraged.

  • Busy Schedules: Work, family, and life commitments take priority.

There is a better way.

At this time of year, “LESS IS MORE” is a popular goal amongst leaders I coach.

It’s not surprising as it means: Higher Productivity; Greater Profitability; Better Work/Life Balance

There are three key areas that you need to focus on to achieve this goal:

  1. Your teams

  2. Your boss and senior stakeholders

  3. Yourself

Then follow specific strategies that:

  • Sustain enthusiasm

  • Are based on Realistic Expectations

  • You will prioritise as you see clearly how they deliver benefit.

I am building a guide that will give you practical steps to achieve exceptional results.

Part 1 is coming in two weeks.

Now, we all have people in our network who get frustrated with lack of progress towards unrealistic goals they set themselves. My guide will definitely be helpful for them.

If you know someone who would get value from this guide, please forward this newsletter to them. Your recommendations are vital in introducing new readers to the the benefits of “ Being Curious”.

‘Til next time.
